Australian footballer, Caitlin Foord, is an outstanding talent. Foord has been part of the national team setup since 2007, representing Australia at U-17s level. In 2011, Foord made her debut for the senior women's national team, the Matildas, in a friendly against New Zealand and has been a regular ever since.
Born in Shellharbour on the New South Wales south coast, Foord has spent most of her club career in Australia, playing for W-League side, Sydney FC. However, off-season stints in the United States at Sky Blue FC and the Portland Thorns helped to build her career steadily. She also spent a season in Japan with Vegalta Sendai Ladies.
Foord competed in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup and was voted Best Young Player at the conclusion of the tournament. In 2016, she was awarded the AFC Women's Footballer of the Year.
After a disappointing 2019 World Cup, Foord joined Australian coach Joe Montemurro at Arsenal Women. She has been flying since, arguably in the best form of her career.
A versatile player with speed, power and skill, Foord is one of the most deadly attacking forces in the women's game. She is most happy when scoring goals.
One could say, Foord has a V8 engine.
