Lisa De Vanna made her international debut for Australia in 2004, a 2-0 victory over New Zealand. That same year, the talented forward was selected in the Matildas squad to compete in the Athens Olympics, scoring against Sweden in the quarter-finals.
She made a name for herself at the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup in China, scoring four goals and helping the Matildas reach the quarter-finals. Her performances earned her a spot in the tournament's best 11.
De Vanna is one of the most dangerous goal-scorers in the women's game, combining clinical finishing, lightning speed and acceleration, and sublime dribbling ability. She has earned a reputation as a "super sub", scoring most of her goals coming off the bench.
Former Norway coach, Bjarne Berntsen, said, "With her sensational speed and great goal-scoring ability, she proved herself to be one of best forwards in the world."
De Vanna is the highest goalscorer in Matildas history.
