Australian striker, Mark Viduka, arguably enjoyed the peak of his football career during the early millennium as Leeds United's target-man. Leeds manager, David O'Leary, signed Viduka for £6 million to start the 2000/2001 Barclays Premier League season. He went on to score 22 goals, including all four in a memorable 4–3 win over Liverpool at Elland Road.
While his club football was flourishing, the international scene was floundering. Viduka had missed out on qualifying for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and back home the administration of the game was in turmoil. Nevertheless, the V-bomber would stay the course, captaining the Socceroos at the next World Cup - Australia's first since 1974.
This design pays tribute to Viduka's resilience in the Australian national team and highlights one of the more impressive Socceroos away jerseys.
