The Matildas claimed Australia's first Asian football title at the Women's Asian Cup in China after defeating North Korea in the Final on 30 May 2010. Coach Tom Sermanni's team overcame several injury setbacks and monsoonal conditions in Chengdu to go a step better than their runner-up finish at the 2006 tournament.
With the score locked at 1-all after 90 minutes and extra-time, the Matildas were flawless in the penalty shootout, winning 5-4 after an 18-year-old Kyah Simon netted the winner.
This design is a piece of Asian football history.
